How Does Hypnosis Help You Lose Weight?

Humans are slaves to habit. Hypnosis is a tool for eliminating bad habits and creating good habits. In today's society we have grown accustomed to eating for reasons other than hunger.

Poor eating habits are often unconscious in nature. We eat because we're stressed or bored, tired or wide awake, happy or unhappy, or one of many other reasons that don't actually involve being hungry (hence the term "comfort food"). Hypnosis helps re-program your unconscious to either not eat unnecessarily or at least healthier foods. It's a tool for change at the subconscious level where our habits are formed.

Hypnosis is a very natural, pleasant state of mind that often occurs at least twice a day for most people. It's the feeling we experience immediately before drifting off to sleep and right after waking up. You might experience a similar feeling when you gaze at a fireplace or candle. Despite being completely aware of everything happening around you, you're feeling quite relaxed and focused solely on the flame.

Entering this hypnotic state opens the subconscious, and a skilled hypnotist can use this state to suggest or reinforce good eating habits while making bad habits more undesireable.

An example of this might be the next time you open the refrigerator to take out a soft drink. Your hand may stop in mid-air, and a subconscious impulse changes your mind, causing you to grab a bottle of water instead. It might not register at the time, but soon you come to the realization you are now in full control of your eating habits.

Hypnosis doesn't always work for everyone, but if you're finding your willpower lacking, it's certainly an option to consider.
